An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Students will learn the basics of play during this five-week series including how to set up the board, the rules of the game, understanding basic rule nuances such as castling, and the difference between checkmate and stalemate. Students will also begin to develop an understanding of fundamental chess principles and basic tactical ideas. This class is for elementary aged students as well as slightly older students who are interested in trying chess for the first time.This event will be held on Zoom.
