Nolan started playing Chess at age 5 and started competing in tournaments soon after. In elementary school, he led his elementary school to a Top 4 finish at the Hurvitz Cup a regional team chess tournament, hosted by The Massachusetts Chess Association. While Nolan decided early on to not pursue playing the game at a more serious level, he's always found the time to play recreationally and teach those who are looking to improve their game.
