Teen Yoga with Sweet Pea Yoga | Grade 6+
Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Sweet Pea Yoga for Teens is a special class where students can develop their yoga practice in a peaceful, creative hour time together. The poses are designed to help teens learn yoga in a way that reflects their age, ability, and curiosity while adding healthy, directed movement that increases body confidence, flexibility, and emotional balance. The instruction is geared towards students grade 6 and up.
We’ll practice activities for developing mindfulness, slowing down, breathing techniques and meditation for soothing anxiety. No prior yoga experience is required.
This program will be held via Zoom. To join us,
please register online
, and we will email you the link shortly before the meeting.
What to have:
a yoga mat is helpful but not necessary.
What to wear:
Bare feet are best for practicing yoga. Flexible, not too baggy clothing helpful.
Sweet Pea Yoga requires an online waiver prior to participation; it will be emailed to you a few days before the event.
Alexandra De Collibus
, owner of Sweet Pea Yoga, has been dedicated to sharing yoga with kids, teens and families from the day she began teaching yoga 19 years ago! With an eye toward building emotional resilience as much as strength, flexibility, and focus, her classes center the importance of learning effective techniques for reducing stress and anxiety which her students can feel confident applying beyond the studio walls.
You might have seen her teaching Baby Yoga on TV in
Animal Planet’s The Most Extreme
or have read about her in Parents Magazine and USA Today.
