Exploring Poetic Choices: six ways to hone your art
Thursday, November 12, 2020
Join Merryn Rutledge for this 6-session exploration of the craft of poetry. Each class offers participants a heightened awareness of choices in their writing, and a greater appreciation of poems by the likes of Rumi, Billy Collins, and Anne Sexton. You'll explore the value of fresh images, the music and rhythm of language, and the paradox of making personal experiences resonate universally. Participants will also be invited to share their poems and act as “critical friends." If you've just started to write, or have been writing for years, come join this exciting journey!
Session dates: September 10 & 17, October 15 & 29, November 12 & 19
This program will be held via Zoom. Registration for this program has closed. If you have previously registered, you will be emailed the Zoom information the day of each meeting.

Her poems have appeared in Poetry Porch, Aurorean, Speckled Trout Review, Borrow Solace, and Avocet.
