Volunteering
WHY
The Hingham Public Library is a valuable and popular resource for the Town of Hingham. In order to continue to provide the best possible service to the community, the Library relies on its volunteers. Volunteering offers you an opportunity to meet others who love books and libraries while you provide valuable service to the Library and the community.
WHAT
Volunteers help in a number of ways. Click here for information on the variety of opportunities that are available.
WHO
We welcome as volunteers those of middle school age or older. If you enjoy being around books and those who love books and libraries, we welcome you as a volunteer.
HOW
You may fill out an application online. Click here for the application.
You may also call 781-741-1405 and request an application.
When your application is received, you will be contacted by Joan Newell, Volunteer Coordinator, to set up an interview. All those interested in volunteering at the Library must complete a Criminal Offense Record Investigation (CORI) form according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prospective volunteers under the age of 18 must also have a signed permission form from their parents or legal guardian.
