  1. Exploring Poetic Choices: six ways to hone your art

    October 15, 2020, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Online via Zoom

Join Merryn Rutledge for this 6-session exploration of the craft of poetry. Each class offers participants a heightened awareness of choices in their writing, and a greater appreciation of poems by the likes of Rumi, Billy Collins, and Anne Sexton. You'll explore the value of fresh images, the music and rhythm of language, and the paradox of making personal experiences resonate universally. Participants will also be invited to share their poems and act as “critical friends." If you've just started to write, or have been writing for years, come join this exciting journey!

    Session dates: September 10 & 17, October 15 & 29, November 12 & 19

This program will be held via Zoom. Registration for this program has closed. If you have previously registered, you will be emailed the Zoom information the day of each meeting.

  1. Edward Gorey Art Contest Virtual Meetup

October 15, 2020, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Online via Zoom -- New to Zoom? Watch this short video.

Calling all artists! Join us for an afternoon of spooky art! Every year, the Edward Gorey House holds an Envelope Art Contest where they invite participants to decorate an envelope in the style of Edward Gorey's art, using that year's theme, and mail it to their museum in Yarmouth Port.

This virtual gathering is a chance for teens to create their own envelopes for this contest "together" and have some fun! Just grab an envelope, your favorite pens/pencils/drawing materials, and join us on Zoom. After you're done, don't forget to grab a stamp and mail your envelope in to be counted in the contest!

This program will be held via Zoom. Registration for this program has closed. If you had previously registered, you have been emailed the Zoom information.
