At age 23, just after graduating from college, Andrew Forsthoefel walked out his back door with a backpack, an audio recorder and a sign that read "Walking to Listen." He spent eleven months trekking across the United States recording interviews and gathering stories of people he met along the way. Andrew's book tells the tale of his 4,000 mile journey of listening to and learning from strangers. In addition to authoring his book, Andrew co-produced a radio documentary about his project featured on "This American Life."

Join us for an evening of fascinating stories of Andrew's adventures, his thoughtful insights from the road, and consider the practice of engaging in conversation and listening to one another.
