  1. South Shore Conservatory's Suzuki Guitar Trio directed by George Little, Suzuki Department Chair

    Narrated by ensemble director, George Little and narrated in Spanish by Xoxi Mendes
    Performers: Carmelle Jagaselvan, Jack Durso, and Julian Davis

    South Shore Conservatory's Suzuki Guitar Trio, consisting of guitarists aged 10-12, present a program of music by Hispanic composers and a telling of Munro Leaf's revered children's book: The Story of Ferdinand the Bull with music composed by Rhode Island guitarist/composer Mychal Gendron.

    The concert will include a video presentation of Robert Lawson's beautiful illustrations from the Story of Ferdinand set to a Spanish reading of the text and combined with the original music by Mychal Gendron. This program is a story time, concert, and multi-lingual experience for all ages.

  2. Read-to-a-Dog: Hope (a Cocker Spaniel) and her partner, Lynn, are our listeners today

    Our Read to a Dog program provides a supportive environment to practice reading! Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence and self-esteem. Our canine friends are all wonderful, patient listeners who are looking forward to reading with you!

    The program takes place each Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30. Reading sessions last 15 minutes and are for children ages 5 and up. Please reserve a spot by calling the Children's Department at 781-741-1405 ext. 1403.

  3. Parent/Child Book Group for 2nd & 3rd Graders: "EllRay Jakes is Not a Chicken" by Sally Warner

    Eight-year-old EllRay Jakes is sick of getting picked on. But every time he tries to defend himself against class bully Jared Matthews, EllRay is the one who winds up in trouble. This humorous and true-to-life story kicks off the EllRay Jakes series.
