November's Topic: Making Butter & Ice Cream | Scientist: Stephanie Kwolek Saturday Science is back for another fantastic year! Tailored to two elementary school-age groups (K-2 and 3-5), Saturday Science sessions expose kids to different scientific fields and the leading female scientists in those fields. The theme for this year's series is The Science of Food, and each session includes a hands-on experiment or craft activity. (Age limits are strictly enforced to ensure a positive experience for all children.) Registration for this program will open on October 15. Our Read to a Dog program provides a supportive environment to practice reading! Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence and self-esteem. Our canine friends are all wonderful, patient listeners who are looking forward to reading with you! The program takes place each Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30. Reading sessions last 15 minutes and are for children ages 5 and up. Please reserve a spot by calling the Children's Department at 781-741-1405 ext. 1403. We hope you can join us! Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters by Andrea Beaty, Illustrations by David Roberts, is a spirited story about the power of teamwork and the true meaning of home. When Rosie is unable to invent a contraption to help one of Aunt Rose's Raucous Riveters friends, she calls on classmates Iggy Peck and Ada Twist to help. This program requires registration.
