December's Topic: Gravity | Scientist: Nergis Mavalvala Saturday Science is back for it’s third year and this time, It’s Alive! This year’s program features the vibrant and dynamic nature of the sciences, tailored to two elementary school-age groups (K-2 and 3-5. Age limits are strictly enforced to ensure a positive experience for all children.) Saturday Science sessions expose kids to different scientific fields and the leading female scientists in those fields. Each session includes a hands-on experiment or craft activity. The Saturday Science team was founded by Foster Elementary School parents Sonia Steele and Dr. Katie McBrine, and the team has expanded to include local parents Marie Bohane (Plymouth River Elementary), Lauren Gadot (East School), and Cassie Saitow (Hull).This program requires registration. READ TO BOO! - A therapy dog | Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence as well as self-esteem. Keep your reading skills sharp by reading to BOO, an adorable Shih Tzu. He is a certified reading and therapy dog. Boo will available on Dec. 01 for four 15 minute sessions beginning at 10:30 AM. *Please call the Children’s and Young Adult Department to register for your preferred sitting. Suitable for kids age 5 and up.
