  2. Teen Book Group: The Astonishing Color of After

    August 18, 2018, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Activity Room

    All teens in grades 6 and up welcome! Drop-in event. New members are always welcome! We meet biweekly throughout the summer to discuss that meeting's books and chat over snacks. This meeting we will be discussing: The Astonishing Color of After, by Emily X. R. Pan. Library copies of the book will be made available at the children's desk. Summary: Leigh is convinced that her mother turned into a bird after she committed suicide. She travels to Taiwan to meet her maternal grandparents for the first time, determined to find her mother, the bird. While there, though, Leigh will discover new depths to herself and family secrets she never knew. This is a novel about finding yourself through family history, art, grief, and love.

    Teen Advisory Board is back after a short summer break! Whether you're already a member or someone new looking to get involved, stop by our first TAB meeting as we talk about our goals for this school year and what we hope to accomplish! We meet every other week and all teens welcome. (It also counts as community service hours!) Join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) at the Hingham Public Library! We want to hear what YOU have to say! Earn community service hours, have fun, and help the library plan teen offerings! All young adults aged 12 + up welcome. No registration required.
