  10. Evening with the Author: Ken Brack presents Especially For You

    January 25, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM @ Whiton Room

Awakened to the death of his son in a car crash, reeling in the desolate place that no parent ever expects to be, Ken Brack sets out to find how people rebuild their lives after catastrophic loss.

A journalist and former high school teacher, Brack gathers the wrenching and ultimately uplifting stories of grieving families who grow through extraordinary trials by finding a new purpose.

Especially For You casts fresh light on our responses to horrific ordeals, including healing oneself by lifting others up. Driven by an arresting emotional intimacy, the book speaks passionately to readers trying to make sense of calamity and to our shared capacity to transform pain into something good.

In 2008, Denise and Ken Brack opened a nonprofit bereavement center that has become a leading resource for families in southern New England. Proceeds from this book will support the outreach of Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center in Kingston, Ma.
