School Vacation Week!

TUESDAY, APRIL 16

10:00 to Noon - Touch-A-Truck - Touch-A-Truck is a fun family event to be enjoyed by kids of all ages! The trucks will be parked along the side of the library near the Children's entrance. Trucks graciously provided by Hingham DPW and the Hingham Municipal Light Plant. (All ages!, Outside the children's entrance)

1:30 - Spring in My Backyard Storytime & Craft -  A hands-on storytime that includes books about birds, a variety of touchable bird related objects (i.e. nests, worms, feathers etc.) followed by painting a birdhouse. (Ages 6-10, Activity Room)

3:45 - Family Movie Afternoon: Mary Poppins Returns - Mary Poppins returns during Michael's most desperate hour to lend him a helping hand. With his house in danger of being repossessed, she whips up a little magic to remind him of the importance of family. Rated PG. (Commonsense Media suggested age 6+,Whiton Room)

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

1:00 - Imagination Station: Lego Challenge, Build a Marble Run! - The April 2019 Lego Challenge is to build a marble run with the library's collection of Lego's. Experiment with ramps, jumps, turns and towers OR just come for the fun and design your own project. Bring a friend or work alone. All designs must stay in the library and will be displayed in the children's department. (Ages 5+, Activity Room)

4:00 - Suzuki Demonstration Class with the South Shore Conservatory - This demo class will feature student performances along with a lesson demonstration with Suzuki Guitar students. In addition to observing, participants will get to interact with group class activities centered around the guitar as well as having an opportunity to hold and play a guitar. (Ages 4-6, Whiton Room)

THURSDAY, APRIL 18

3:30 - Family Movie Afternoon: Incredibles 2 - Mr. Incredible is left home with the kids when Elastigirl becomes the new face of superheros. Families are welcome to bring a snack, a beverage (covered please!) and a blanket if you prefer to stretch out on the floor. Rated PG. (Commonsense Media suggested age 8+, Whiton Room)

6:30 - Family Bingo - Please join us for this fun family favorite where everyone wins a prize. (All ages, Activity Room)

FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT

Join us all week long for a building-wide scavenger hunt! Visit the children's department for instructions and a search sheet. After you finish your hunt, return your form to the children's desk and receive a small prize. Everyone is a winner! This is a self-guided hunt for all ages, children under 9 must be accompanied by a parent.
