Saturday Science is back for it’s third year and this time, It’s Alive! This year’s program features the vibrant and dynamic nature of the sciences, tailored to two elementary school-age groups (K-2 and 3-5).
Saturday Science sessions expose kids to different scientific fields and the leading female scientists in those fields. Each session includes a hands-on experiment or craft activity. The Saturday Science team was founded by Foster Elementary School parents Sonia Steele and Dr. Katie McBrine, and the team has expanded to include local parents Marie Bohane (Plymouth River Elementary), Lauren Gadot (East School), and Cassie Saitow (Hull).
Saturday Science meetings are held the first Saturday of each month during the school year, starting October 6. Students in grades K-2 meet from 9:15-10:00, and students in grades 3-5 meet from 10:15-11:00.
Space is limited and reservations are required. Please register online or by calling the children’s department at 781-741-1405, ext. 1403. The parent/guardian of children 9 and under must remain in the children's department while the child participates in the program. Age limits are strictly enforced to ensure a positive experience for all children.
This program has been funded in part by the Hingham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. We are grateful for their support.
