David McCullough will speak about his new book The American Spirit on Friday May 19, 2017 at Derby Academy as a benefit for the Hingham Public Library. The American Spirit, “reminds us of core American values to which we all subscribe, regardless of which region we live in, which political party we identify with, or our ethnic background. This is a book about America for all Americans that reminds us who we are and helps to guide us as we find our way forward.”
The evening will also feature pianist Ed Wise, and is presented by the Harold and Avis Goldstein Lecture Series. There will be a pre-lecture cocktail reception at 6pm, followed by the lecture and book signing beginning at 7:30pm. Books will be available for purchase at the event courtesy of Buttonwood Books & Toys.
Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased online or at the Library. They are $125 for the pre-lecture reception or $30 for the lecture only. A limited number of tickets to the reception and/or lecture are available at the Library free of charge to interested high school students, due to the generosity of our series sponsor. Please join us for a fun evening to benefit the Library!
