February Vacation Week Programs

Piggy Bank on the Beach

Dance Along with Tracy Durso - Tuesday, Feb 21 at 10:30

Dance Along is an early childhood movement program for children ages 18 months to 3. 5 years and the grownups who care for them. This age-appropriate dance class offers active toddlers an outlet to dance, play and explore movement in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Utilizing movement props, parachute play, music, and their imagination, children will dance and sing in this lively session. Drop-in Event in the Whiton Room.


Creative Building Fun with Keva Planks - Tuesday, Feb 21 at 1:00

Enjoy creative building fun using the library's collection of KEVA planks. Challenges include making a marble run , the tallest tower, and other structures. Drop-in Event for ages 5 to 7 in the Whiton Room.


Creativity Nest: Make a fun craft to take home - Wednesday, Feb 22 at 1:00

The library will provide the materials  and you provide the imagination! (Please remember that crafts can get a bit messy so please wear appropriate attire. Thanks!) Creativity Nest is a drop-in program for children from ages 5 to 7 in the Activity Room.


Pop Up Art School: Workshop inspired by artist Georgia O'Keefe - Wednesday, Feb 22 at 3:30

Janell Scannell and Lisa Walker are the co-creators of a wonderful independent art program for kids called Pop Up Art! They bring all the supplies for the selected project and the kids leave with their own work of art! The February class will explore Georgia O’Keefe, a watercolor painter and is best known for her paintings of flowers. We will re-create the look of translucent watercolors by collaging with tissue paper. For children ages 8 to 14. Reservations are necessary and made be made by calling the children’s department at 781-741-1405. ext 1403 beginning on Feb. 1st.


Su Escuela Story Time & Craft - Thursday, Feb 23 at 10:30

Bueanas Dias! Story time with Su Escuela. Please join us for this special story time  & craft session hosted by staff members from the Su Escuela Language Academy. This drop-in class is for children ages 5 and under in the Whiton Room.


Family Movie: The Trolls - Thursday, Feb 23 at 1:00

When their village is invaded by the grumpy Bergens, two mismatched friends must work together in perfect harmony to save the day. Featuring hit songs performed by Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, and more. Rated PG, 92 Minutes. This drop-in event is for children 6 + in the Whiton Room.


Scavenger Hunt: Black History from A to Z, Who Am I? - Available All Week Long, Just stop by the Children's Desk

Please join us for a Scavenger Hunt highlighting Black History month.  Rubber Duck's will be distributed throughout the library, each marked with a letter. That letter is the first letter of the last name of a notable black American.  Identity clues will be on the scavenger hunt form. Bring the completed sheet to the children's desk and choose a prize. For families and children ages 5 to 12.
