Film Screening and Discussion: The Human Element

Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Please join us for a screening and discussion of the documentary "The Human Element." Citizens Climate Lobby volunteer Steve Wenner will facilitate a discussion after the film.

Director Matthew Testa’s The Human Element is a documentary that explores the ever-changing and significant effects of the human race on an already fragile world. The powerful film follows the renowned photographer James Balog, who shows with his camera how environmental changes affect the lives of Americans. Following the four classic elements of earth, air, fire and water, Balog explores forest fires, hurricanes, sea level rise, coal mining and the changes in the air we breathe. With heart and compassion, The Human Element tells a haunting story and aims to inspire the viewer to a more balanced relationship between man and nature.

Steven Wenner is a retired industrial statistician whose career in several industries helped scientists and engineers improve their experiments, data analysis and modeling.  Now Steve volunteers with several environmental organizations focused on addressing the challenges of climate change and reducing carbon emissions.  He also serves on the Cohasset Alternative Energy Committee to help his town transition toward 100% renewable energy.
