  18. Book Launch for Hingham author, Monica Tesler and her book, Fractured Futures

    The Hingham Library welcomes Hingham Author Monica Tesler for the launch of Fractured Futures, the fifth and final book in her Bounders series aimed at tweens and teens, ages 9-14. Monica will discuss her newest book, answer questions about the series, and sign books. There will also be games, refreshments, and fun book swag for all!

    Fractured Futures reunites Jasper and his Bounder friends. They must find a way to make peace between Earth and the Youli aliens before the Youli destroy the human race in this finale of the Bounders series, which Shannon Messenger calls "richly detailed, highly imaginative" and Booklist describes as a "sci-fi space adventure sure to please middle-graders looking to get hooked on a new series."

    Bounders is her debut series from Simon & Schuster/Aladdin.

  5. Gap Years for Students: A Talk by Katherine Stievater

    Katherine Steivater presents Gap Year Solutions! Stievater will discuss Gap Years for both high school and college students and whether the experience is right for you or your child. No registration necessary - late arrivals welcome. Questions welcome at the end. Light refreshments will be served.

    Stievater founded Gap Year Solutions because she feels strongly that many high school students and some college students could benefit from taking a step off the typical path, and become more self-reliant and confident through real world learning. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, with over twelve years of experience as an alumni interviewer for prospective students. Her oldest son spent his junior year of high school in Spain. Katherine is a Member of the Advisory Board and Standards & Accreditation Committee of the Gap Year Association, is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and a Keynote speaker for USA Gap Year Fairs
